Our Supporters

We are grateful to our community funders for their support.

    Sir James Knott Trust

Sir James Knott were our start-up funders, giving us a generous grant to take our first steps by setting up the foundations of a robust and sustainable organisation, ensuring that we meet all legislative, safeguarding, and safety requirements and that the systems we set up are future-proofed, allowing us to develop without outgrowing them – this included brand identity, IT and data systems.

They also supported our initial steps, including working with local community groups and to pilot using reuse materials to create activity boxes.

We will be forever grateful that they believed in our vision for inclusion and environment.

People's Postcode Lottery and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust

The People’s Postcode Lottery and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust have supported us to support those marginalised due to additional needs to volunteer to help us reuse materials to create our boxes. Funding provided 30 supported volunteering sessions for people with additional needs and 300 packs to enable others to volunteer from home. They have also supported us, through Groundworks Grassroots, to provide additional volunteering - both in person and remotely - for those unable to access formal volunteering pathways.

This work has been made possible by an award from Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

    Ashington Town Council

Our Town Council provided us with a very generous grant to help Repurposeful to open as a permanent Community Scrapstore in Ashington.

The grant enabled us to take a lease on a property, increasing visibility and providing our Scrapstore service (and inclusive volunteering) on a long-term basis. This has allowed residents and community organisations increased access to low-cost reuse resources, and provides a drop-off point for businesses wishing to reduce their carbon footprint.

We are very grateful for their support.

    Northumberland County Council

Northumberland CC Community Chest were kind enough to support us with funding towards the cost of IT equipment, as well as storage racks and boxes, and a parcel truck and crate dollies for our Scrapstore.

We have also benefitted from funding to enable children to become champions of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ in their households, whilst supporting fun, creativity, wellbeing and a host of important skills. The funding provided 250 low-cost ‘Creative Reuse’ packs with basic ‘crafting’ equipment to families in Ashington, so that children are encouraged to save and reuse items in creative play and junk model making
